Our Diva Girl

This blog is dedicated to our Diva girl who has changed our lives forever....

I was introduced to the English Bulldog first by a sweet wrinkly face girl...Bailey Jean was her name and my best friend Liz had searched all over the country for her. She was then joined by her brother Bruiser who stole my heart. The Bulldog is such a sweet dog with a gentle spirit that loves you unconditionally. I couldn't wait to get to a point in my life where I was able to devote the time to have one of my own.

That time came this summer when we had enough money saved and I was looking on the Internet for my own sweet face. Diva was born on May 15, 2009 which is ironically Liz's birthday so I knew it was fate. Jayson and I went to meet her and instantly fell in love with her little paws and cinnamon bun tail. Neither one of us has had a puppy before. I brought 2 cats into the relationship that I love dearly, but cats are definitely different than having a puppy!!

She snores louder than Jayson and passes gas after her dinner, but she is our baby :) She is very smart-sits for her treats, has very few "accidents" in the house, and stops instantly when she hears "NO Diva!" She prefers chewing an old toothbrush to a bone, and loves to go to PetSmart where she is always the most popular dog there! She loves going for car rides and playing with her puppy friends-especially her boyfriend Bruiser.

She was even a part of our engagement pictures & this was a pic taken of just us that I love!

She's always up for a good road trip!!

Jayson and I have been forever changed by her love and we can't imagine our home without her in it. We often joke that it is like the animal kingdom in our little condo with 2 cats and a Bulldog, but we love it. I know that she has prepared us for the day when we have kids, but she will always be our first born. For all you dog lovers out there, I know you understand!

Let's try this again...

So....I failed at my last attempt at maintaining a blog, but I am trying again!! I really want to have a place where our friends and family can go to see what is going on in our daily lives. We are entering such an exciting time in our lives with May just around the corner! Hopefully, I can do a better job of keeping up with this site this time around :)

Jayson and I recently made our annual trip to my Alma mater Tennessee to meet up with our Solomon family and enjoy some good SEC football. We had an incredible weekend with our gracious hosts, Julie, Jason, Cody, and Cade! We enjoyed a rainy Halloween night watching our VOLS beat up on South Carolina and Spurrier :) The enjoyment came especially from the fact that our seats were out of the rain! I have to say though...Neyland Stadium has changed quite a bit from our college days...there are so many food choices that we couldn't pick!! When we were in school, our choices were pizza, a Petro, or a Smokey Dog... (my true Vols will know what I'm talking about ). The renovations done to the stadium were truly amazing and it looked more like a professional sports venue than a college football stadium.

During this trip, we also decided to get our engagement pictures taken. I wanted to go back to Knoxville for this because there is nothing like a fall afternoon in East Tennessee and I wanted to capture that beauty in pictures. From another friend's pictures on Facebook, I found the most amazing photographer and had contacted her back in the spring about taking our pictures. She was such fun to be around and made us so comfortable that the pictures are everything I could have imagined. She took a vision in my head and turned it into pictures that I will cherish forever. If you are interested in her work, visit her website at www.inspiredphotodesign.com. I've also posted some of our engagement pictures below.
